Come on I've been waiting for ages!

"When the student is ready the teacher appears."

 "When the student is ready,"

That's me I suppose.

"Then the teacher"

I reckon that must be the trials and tribulations of modern family life. "

Appears?

My starting of yet another blog I reckon.

So at 45 and more importantly 8 years of marriage and 3 children into our trench warfare/family life. Who would have thought that 8 years of marriage and 3 children would be perfect combination of time and pressure to inspire me to warn any other parents of the risks of being outnumbered.

What parents?

Okay not the sorts of parents that would ever dream of giving a toddler a bag of crisps for breakfast.

Not the sort of parents who would ever dream of putting their son in one of his big sister's school shirts because "Nothing's ever clean!" and what's a frilly white collar between siblings.

Certainly not the sort of parents whose distant pipe dream is to get their kids off their screens for ONE hour of the day.

No this is me reaching out to those parents blissfully coasting along with one or two children and thinking it's all just  "Fun!"

When they say "fun" surely they must mean "fun" like cutting your foot off with a house brick or repeatedly shutting  your testicles in a door?

That said that 2nd suggestion might actually help considering this subject matter. No I mean the sort of parents that think it might be "Fun" to have a third child.

DISCLAIMER

Please don't get me wrong, also my wife, is a wiley old fox, not literally that would be horrible and would probably take some serious explaining at parent's evenings.

No by "wiley old fox" I mean that after 4 years of me asking her on a daily basis to please watch one of my parody dad raps this blog could be the moment she actually buckles and agrees to read something.

One of the Dad Raps

I do genuinely adore my children, they're awesome and I know I'd be lost without them but I do sometimes find myself day dreaming about sleep, quiet rooms and not ever having to share a bag of crisps again.

Yes I have started loads of blogs in the past and they've all been fairly rubbish. I either got bored after the initial excitement of the first few post or I just run out of quirky relatable things to say.

Just in case you're wondering what is going on in this image it was a thumbnail I used to promote.

A silly video

A video where I'm ultimately asking people to buy merchandise with puerile designs on them. W
hile I've got you, are you in the market for a fart themed bed spread?

No didn't think so.Well if you ever are, your business would be hugely appreciated, because unfortunately conservatories don't pay themselves.

Anyway my name is James and I'm a married father of 3. When I'm not searching for socks (matching! Are you mad?) or looking for something I can eat that isn't aggressively marked for pack lunches I'm a Brighton Beach seafront officer.

What's that?

Think a UK version of Baywatch but far less glamorous with more gate closing and more having to calmly ask people to pick up dog poo and use the cycle lanes.

Here I am,in front of the West Pier probably around 10.45am definitely wishing it was lunch.

I never saw a Baywatch episode where Mitch Buchanan had to explain shared space bylaws to a man rollerblading in Speedos. When I'm not doing that, I'm try to wrestle back control of my anxious mind convincing me I caused a road traffic accident in my sleep, by creating content for my Youtube and Tik Tok channels.

If you're more intrigued than my wife, not difficult, feel free to check out perhaps even watch something on my youtube channel.

"Dadmissions Impossible

On it I....

1) Sing a consistently out of tune version of happy birthday everyday for whoever needs to hear it.

2) Create very silly ukulele songs (self taught ish in the 1st lockdown) about my mental health, family life and Brazilian Jui Jitsu. Three activities I struggle with to varying degrees.

LIKE THIS ONE

Like probably lots of other parents,I worry I'm not spending enough time  with the kids and am therefore always looking for ways to escape the padlock checking, bylaw enforcing, rat race.

If any of this sounds in any way interesting or you're just happy to make a 45 year old man slightly happier please follow, subscribe not sure what it is in blog world? I suppose just read something and maybe say hello..

I hope wherever you are in the World you are okay.

Love James

James A BIT MORE INTEL Life is always fairly stressful, especially now and double especially, if you struggle with any type of mental illness.I struggle with OCD (Pure O) & intrusive thoughts. At best these thoughts are annoying at worst they're distressing and pretty debilitating. Over the years I have found and developed several techniques to combat them. I've recently found that the creative outlet of writing parodies to famous songs, learning the ukulele and uploading content to a Youtube channel has really helped. Wherever you are in the World,I hope you're okay, thanks for stopping by and take care of yourself. All the best James Quick channel back story.... maybe not that quick. April 2018 I decide I want to create a Youtube channel called "Middle Class Rapper." Quite possibly because one, maybe two, kind supportive people laughed at my joke during an open mic. June 2020 Paul,a great guy I used to train Jui Jitsu with gives me some very honest advice on my channel and content. After a few weeks I stopped sulking and decided that if I really wanted to develop this channel and create content that supports and entertains, anyone struggling with mental health, then I need to triple down on any content that the channel analytics shows to be doing the best. By "doing the best" I mean has been watched by at least other person. If you're new here please say hello and let me know what you think? If you like what I am trying to do and want to support me then please subscribe to the channel. All the best James THE IMPORTANT BIT If you're struggling please know that you are not alone. This organisation below may well be able to offer some professional support. Alternatively you could do what I did and go and tell your GP that you really need some help asap. That plus lots of other things has and continues to work pretty well for me. Take care of yourself. AFFILIATE LINK

If like me you're a bit of a worrier especially about things like cyber crime you could do what I did about 5 years and invest in a VPN app. I'm with Nord VPN and have never, touch wood, had any problems. Although I am an affiliate of theirs I'm not being paid to say this and genuinely became their customer about 5 years ago.
